Actually I thought director tried to image of too many whcih result the ending.

As I knew this story was made by director and actor Alessandro (Play Andrea) on web.

I thought the ending could be made more reasonable ,because life is going on and  grief will be healed by memory and consideration and love . I did not say they should be together, but they both loved the same guy before, they should be a good friend or said something in the port before "ciao".
